ACROBATICS

COMBINATION CLASS

Acrobatics builds strength, flexibility, balance and coordination through the use of dance, conditioning, and floor tumbling combined. Bridges, back bends, cartwheels, headstands, handstands, walkovers, and partnering tricks are among the skills learned in this class. Admission to acrobatics requires enrollment in a ballet technique class.

COMBINATION CLASS

A dance class that incorporates elementary levels of progressions for ballet and tap combinations along with the use of arm and body movements. Students will learn rhythm, coordination, and concentration using their tap shoes, as well as the elegance and grace that comes with ballet. As the combo age gets higher so does the difficulty of the class. 

Ages  4-6 Combo 1

BALLET

COMBINATION CLASS

JAZZ/LYRICAL

A classical style of dance promoting discipline, technique, and tradition.   Ballet is the basis for all other forms of dance. Ballet is highly recommended for students wishing to pursue other forms of dance as well as gymnastics and ice skating.  Ballet class is necessary for dancers who eventually want to get on Pointe Shoes.

Beginning Ballet Ages 9 & Up.

JAZZ/LYRICAL

KID'S ACTING TECHNIQUE AND MOVEMENT

JAZZ/LYRICAL

Jazz is a more free-form style of dance. Jazz incorporates technique with energetic turns, leaps, and jumps. Dancers enrolled in jazz will develop flexibility and strength through warm-ups consisting of body isolations. Lyrical jazz combines ballet & jazz and allows the dancers to connect with the lyrics of the music,  Must take ballet to enroll in jazz.

KID'S ACTING TECHNIQUE AND MOVEMENT

Interactive acting exercises,  scene study, improvisation, commercial, and, musical theatre techniques are different types of skills needed to learn how to act.  Participating in class teaches the student about preparation and making choices.  Movement for actors helps to engage the audience with the character they are portraying.  Both disciplines are connected.

Ages 7-14 

No previous dance training is needed for this class!

This class is taught by Shayna Crews: the acting /dance director at Liberty High School.



TAP

Tap is music with your feet. Students learn to articulate and create intricate rhythm and sounds using the balls of the feet. Tap class will help develop musicality and timing for the dancer. Tap dancing also incorporates arm movement for coordination.  Must take ballet to enroll in tap.

MODERN

PRE-BALLET

PRE-BALLET

A classical style of dance that was developed as a reaction to the restrictions of ballet. Unlike ballet, modern dance does not focus on turnout and extension. Dancers enrolled in modern will enhance their movement quality, range of dynamics, style, and spacial awareness through improvisation and exposure to different styles of elements.  Admission to modern requires enrollment in ballet.

Pre-ballet can be defined as movement that indicates the inner nature of a child.  The encouragement of children to explore this movement using music, encourages the development of physical skills, healthily channeling energy, and nurtures their creativity.  Students get introduced to the fundamentals of ballet needed to move on to the next level.

 Age 3-4
